I don't know if it will help, but I often imagine the younger person in just ten years might get to tell the stories they want to tell, instead of having to be The First to tell a story that has been actively kept from being told.

Absolutely. I also think about what it was I needed to read at e.g. 15 and whether I can provide that for someone who needs it now...
100%! I often think of my teenage self and the stories I longed to read as a queer kid dealing with depression and anxiety.
