Hello,
I have had a ludicrously busy week - but in a nice way. I’ve seen three of my best mates from uni, two of whom I haven’t seen since the Before Times, and I’ve popped home to see mum and dad. I’ve also done a lot of writing as I’m working on the next chapter of my book.
Everyone seems equally busy, so I thought this week I’d do something a bit different. I’m saving deep thoughts on disability or, god forbid, the state of politics for another day and instead sharing a little list of things I am enjoying because they’re nothing to do with work or just because they’re relaxing. Sometimes I think being an anxious person has counterintuitively made me good at chilling out, because if I don’t chill out I go a bit loopy. And now it’s getting cold and dark, it’s the perfect time to invest in some relaxation. Here’s some of the things that work for me:
Reading: I thought I’d attempt to read a novel for a change and I wanted something beautifully written so I’m reading The Beautiful and Damned. The story is a little slow but Fitzgerald’s use of language is so enjoyable that I’m content just drinking in the words. I treated myself to a really nice edition, too, and it’s just so satisfying
